Network Peripherals' FDDI Fiber Workgroup Concentrators provide thebenefits of concentrator topology and address the specific needs ofworkgroup users. The Fiber Workgroup Concentrators are available instandalone hub, single-attach, and dual-attach configurations.A standalone hub configuration (NP-MC) is used when a single concentratorprovides all FDDI connectivity. The dual-attach configuration (NP-MC/D)is used to connect the Fiber Workgroup Concentrator to the dual ring. Thesingle-attach configuration (NP-MC/S) is used to connect the concentratorto the port of another concentrator.The serial port provides out-of-band management of the concentratorthrough a modem or serial line. Port statistics can be retrieved.FDDI SMT Network Management is available whenever the single- or dual-attach MAC option is installed.
